Orange Apricot Hand Cream

January 4th, 2010

In winter, I suffer greatly from the dry hands. Between the cold and intensive washing of hands at work and at home my hands are dry chapped and the normal store creams can't seem to do anything for them. Here is a homemade concoction that protects and soothes hands.

Base butter, lanolin, wax flower orange for its exquisite aroma and a hint of tuberose floral wax for hydration, I'm ready!

Hydrating home made hand cream

Recipe:

  • 1 teaspoon of apricot butter (nourishing)
  • 1 teaspoon of aloe vera butter (healing, regeneration)
  • 1 / 2 teaspoon of lanolin (protective, soothing, preserve the film hydrolipidic)
  • 1 / 2 teaspoon wax flower orange (moisturizing, emollient)
  • a small piece of wax floral tuberose (moisturizer)
  • Vitamin E (anti oxidant)

Preparation:

Disinfect hands, utensils and work environment.
Melt all the ingrediants in a double boiler, mix well and add vitamin E, let cool in pot

Use after washing your hands and before going outside for smooth hands.

Fragrance:

Wax orange of course, a delight! However you can choose to not use any fragrance at all.

Texture:

If you put a small amount on it should penetrate quite quickly. If you put a healthy dose on maybe do it at night while you watch a movie and don't use your hands much for an intensive hand care treatment.

Here is a simple butter and effective, we also put on his lips, very protective!

Where Can We Find Ingredients?

I made this with:

  • MACOSMETOPERSO-wax, floral tuberose
  • CALY- aloe butter
  • NATURE IN-MA wax flower orange flower
  • AROMA-AREA - substitute plant lanolin
  • THE USEFUL Zinetti - apricot butter
  • Of course, one can certainly find integrity in a vendor, but I can not guarantee the same recipe!

    Homemade Facial Cleansers

    August 11th, 2009

Making your own natural home made facial cleansers is quite easy and all you need is a few ingredients which can be sourced cheaply from your local supermarket. This is a great natural alternative to expensive store bought facial cleansers.

With all these facial cleansers mix all of the ingredients into a thick and smooth paste. Apply the paste onto your entire face and slowly massage with slow circular motions then leave to dry naturally before rinsing it off.

    Oily skin:

Making Your Own MSM and Aloe Vera Lotion

    February 8th, 2009

You can either go out there and purchase your MSM lotion from a health food store or you can easily make your own providing you have pure MSM flakes on you and Pure Aloe Vera Gel.

There are so many creams out on the market that claim to do all types of things, anti ageing, scar removal, acne fighting, etc. To me the best crem I have ever put on my face and body has been this cream that I made myself. It is cheap and effective especially when combined with the internal consumption of MSM.

MSM and Aloe Vera Gel Lotion

The easiest recipe is to combine MSM with Pure Aloe Vera gel. Keep in mind that 3 x rounded teaspoons of MSM Crystal Flakes is about 15 grams of MSM.

    What you will need:

    • MSM Crystal Flakes - 15 grams for every 100mls of Aloe Vera Gel
    • Pure Aloe Vera Gel - 100mls (or more if you want to make more)

    Process:

    • Mix 3 rounded teaspoons of MSM for ever 100 mls  of pure Aloe Vera gel in a bowl.
    • Mix it well and let it sit for about 30 minutes so the MSM flakes dissolve into the Aloe Vera gel.
    • Don't add more MSM than the amount stated as it will become saturated and go clumpy.
    • Pour the mixture into a suitable container (an old washed out cream tub is good).
    • Use is as frequently as you feel is necessary.
