Skin Treatments for Stretch Marks

Fraxel Laser Treatment and Stretch Marks

July 28th, 2009

Every person has the desire to look beautiful and draw the appreciative glances of all the people around him or her, with skin that is smooth, glowing and radiant. However, we all know that beauty reflects through smooth and glowing skin, which is free from all kind of scars and blemishes and even if this does sound too superficial to some for others the existence of their stretch marks can be a great cause for much mental anguish and concern. So many of us are out there trying out many treatments, creams, supplements and lasers. This post is all about FRAXEL laser. If you have had the experience of using this laser on stretch marks or even on acne or any other skin condition please share your experiences with us in the comments section. The idea behind this is to create a blog where people can share their experiences about different skin treatments and help each other out.

It is true that most of us face the problem of stretch marks as we develop stretch marks either in puberty or due to weight gain, weight loss or body building workouts. Moreover, stretch marks are a common problem for women especially after pregnancy and child delivery as most of the time the dermis, which provides the elasticity to the skin, either ruptures, breaks, or splits. These stretch marks are easily visible, which makes the skin look rippled and makes many of us self conscious about our body. We try to remove the stretch marks with the help of creams, lotions or other cosmetic products to get rid of the stretch marks but the effect is usually quite depressingly minimal.

Fraxel laser is a new technique so research and experiments are still in progress especially in the area of stretch marks treatment. Although advanced technologies have provided a possible solution in the form of many other types of laser treatments the procedure can be very painful and there is a long down time as the  skin heals plus it is costly with no guaranteed success making most people avoid laser treatments all together.  However, development and research continues in cosmetic treatments and led to the discovery of fraxel laser treatment, a safe treatment for rejuvenating the skin on the chest, neck, breast, hands, and even legs. Moreover, fraxel laser treatment helps in acne scar treatment, erasing wrinkles especially the crow’s feet and the age spots and helps in improving the tone and texture of the skin.

Fraxel laser treatment has FDA approval as this fractional treatment penetrates into the dermis layer of the skin by eliminating the pigmented or damaged cells in the epidermal layer or the top outer layer of the skin. Therefore, fraxel laser has proved effective for some acne scar removal within minimum downtime as the intensive treatment deals with a small area of the damaged skin and the thin hair like laser rays pinpoints only the affected area leaving the surrounding area unaffected. This procedure instigates the natural healing system in the living cells surrounding the treated area and so the healing time required after fraxel laser treatment is almost the same as required in the normal course by the body to heal the damaged skin due to injury or abrasions.

Perhaps Fraxel laser treatment is the ray of light we have all been waiting for. I invite others to place their input in the comments section. I will be researching this treatment for stretch marks further.

Jean Wu Technique for Stretch Marks – Over 5 Months

June 9th, 2009

This Jean Wu Method does not work. For any of you out there considering this do not bother to waste your time with it. I have followed it to the letter for almost 6 months and NO results. In fact this may do more damage than good, constantly letting your skin receive a harsh scraping is probably not the best idea over such a long extended period of time.

It is pure and simple INTERNET MARKETING and will not solve any of your problems.

Stretch Marks Cure Exfoliation 4 Months Later

May 1st, 2009

If you are looking for how to get rid of stretch marks and are thinking that the answer could very well be in Jean Wu's over complicated exfoliation method then think again.

I have now been doing this method for 4 months and there is No difference in the stretch marks. The skin looks different and smoother and rosier after the harsh skin scrubbing, but a few days later when it has recovered it goes straight back to how it was. Some of my stretch marks are tiny and even they have not budged at all.

Two months to go, but really I can see I am wasting my time. I know I sound negative, it's just that I would just give this ridiculous procedure up if it wasn't for this blog and for helping out the greater good. I don't think we are going to find the stretch mark removal cure in the Jean Wu method!

Make Up That Covers Stretch Marks

April 16th, 2009

I am on a quest to rid myself of my stretch marks, however this appears to be a longer journey than I first anticipated so on the way I have decided to try some cover up methods.

I have been using Dermablend Coverage Cosmetics for many years. I have the body make up and the Dermablend High Coverage Cream which is essentially for the face but I find it works even better on the body in places like your hips and breasts. It is great for covering any type of discoloration, hyper pigmentation, freckles, scars and stretch marks. It will not alter the texture of the skin much, but it does make skin imperfections appear much less noticeable.

In all honesty this make up is not that great out in the light of day, it is quite noticeable that you have it caked on and if you go swimming even though they tell you it is water proof - it really isn't. You will come out of that ocean swim or jump out of the pool only to find that you are covered no more! Not only that, but your swimmers may have foundation smudges all over them, take it from me I know this from personal experience.

At night time it is a whole different ball game.  With the right lighting of restaurants and bars and even your friends house you can totally get away with this make up. It is even awesome for giving you a very flawless looking cleavage. Put on a push up bra and some of this make up, don't forget the setting powder and make sure you don't wear white!

I want to hear from you, have you used Dermablend to cover stretch marks? Have you used any other type of make-up or product that produced a desirable effect?

Dermablend Suppliers

I have bought my Dermablend cover from a store and also online. For dermablend, I found the best deals to be found at Drugstore.com, however I did get it from Amazon once when I needed it in a hurry (same day shipping). I also found it on Ebay for a great deal, but you can't always find exactly what you want.

Jean Wu Stretchmark Cure – Over 3 Months

April 6th, 2009

I have been following the Jean Wu stretch mark cure technique for well over 3 months and it's not looking good for Jean Wu. My skin looks exactly the same as when I started off 3 months ago. Stretch mark cure I think not, scam and just a clever marketer trying to sell an ebook and being quite successful at it; I think so.

See the Jean Wu technique is this: create an overly complex, tedious routine that no one can question you on when it doesn't work because it is so hard to follow exactly to the letter and thus there you have the disclaimer. Oh did you accidentally brush your skin with the wooden peg anti-clockwise for one round? oh well it's not the technique that doesn't work - it's you!

Well it's definitely not me, this exfoliation technique is garbage. This has as much effect on your stretch marks as climbing up a tree and singing Ring Around The Rosie. I was going to save this barrage til month 6 but I can really see that this is going nowhere fast. There is no improvement and I cannot lie. I will continue this method just to say I have seen it all the way through and I didn't just give up. But this is pure BS!
