Sun damage is the worst for skin, always use sunscreen.

Always drink lots of water, beauty comes from the inside! Keep your skin well hydrated.

Mascaras and lipsticks go off after 6 months, be sure to discard these after that time period.

Use a good exfoliator for removing dry skin to create a smooth and clear complexion for applying your foundation and makeup.

Never use heavy makeup in the places where there are fine lines such as around the mouth and under the eyes.

Emphasize the positive features on your face.

Foundation

Before you apply your foundation, it is a good idea to spritz your face with an essential oil spray which not only makes you smell nice but it has a calming effect on your nervous system. You can make your own by mixing 5 mls of pure rose or lavender oil with mineral water in a spray bottle.

Use a makeup primer on your face. Alternatively you can use moisturizer on your face first, especially if your skin is dry. If you have oily skin be sure to use an oil-free moisturizer.

When you buy your foundation to get the exact match always test it on your face and not the back of your hands. Take a small mirror with you and before you purchase the foundation go outside and check how the foundation looks on your skin in natural light.

Use a good quality sponge or brush to apply your foundation.

Mineral makeup is the latest in foundation technology, it is sheer and light. The way mineral foundation works is by layering. Start with a thin sheer cover and keep layering in places that you want more pigment to get a more opaque look and fuller coverage.

Concealer

Be sparing with your use of concealer if you use too much you can make your face look pasty. To cover up blemishes or dark circles grab a flat makeup brush and moisten it, dab the brush on your concealer and then gently and lightly dab the area on your face with the brush. Once that is dry set it with powder.

A green cover stick is great to use for those who have broken capillaries or ruddy complexions. Another trick is to dab a small amount of witch hazel toner on the broken capillaries to temporarily reduce the redness.

If you have freckles try not to use concealer on them as this can make your face look dull and mask like. Opt for a sheer foundation which lets the freckles show through and looks natural.

Tips for Great Natural Makeup – Foundation is a post from: Treatments For Your Skin

Related posts:

Bobbi Brown Natural Finish Long Lasting Foundation SPF 15

Almay Clear Complexion Blemish Healing Foundation

Top 10 Bride Beauty Tips
